Research and Clinical Interests
Dr. O’Neill is interested in immunotherapies for cancer and chronic infections such as HIV/AIDS. He directs the NYU Cancer Institute’s Vaccine and Cell Therapy Facility, which provides the infrastructure and expertise to produce dendritic cell and other vaccines for human trials, and to monitor patients’ responses to therapy. The laboratory is currently focused on a study to test the immunogenicity of dendritic cells compared to incomplete Freund’s adjuvant in vaccines for malignant melanoma.
