Research and Clinical Interests

I am interested in the mechanisms that mediate mucosal tolerance to allergens and in the conditions in which these mechanisms are overcome, leading to allergic inflammation. In this context we are investigating the role played by allergen-specific Foxp3+ regulatory T cells and by Foxp3-independent mechanisms in preventing allergic responses, and in suppressing tissue damage during chronic allergic inflammation.
