Research and Clinical Interests
My research is focused on the clinical and laboratory biology of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The cure rate for this disease has improved dramatically, but one in five children will suffer a reoccurrence and their prognosis is dismal. We have developed an integrated genomic profile of blasts at diagnosis and relapse to discover mechanisms of drug resistance. These findings have been validated in pre-clinical models and agents that target these pathways are in clinical trials.
