Hematopathology

The NYU Department of Pathology services in Hematopathology focus on the diagnosis of hematopoietic diseases utilizing histology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and molecular pathology. Directed by Sherif Ibrahim, M.D., Ph.D., NYU Hematopathology has three board certified and experienced hematopathologists and processes more than 4000 specimens per year. With approximately 1,300 solid lymphoid tissue specimens and 1,500 bone marrow specimens annually, the NYU pathologists work closely with clinicians in hematology and oncology for patient care management incorporating morphology, immunophenotypic data, genotypic data and cytogenetic data.
