The Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency program is approved by the ACGME for 30 training positions; however, the number of residents in training is usually lower, with about 6 residents typically admitted each July 1. A completed application includes a curriculum vita, a statement of purpose, the Medical Student Performance Evaluation and transcript from the candidate's medical school, three recent letters of recommendation, and USMLE scores.
Graduates of international medical schools must hold an ECFMG certificate. Successful international candidates generally have some previous experience in the US medical system and have recently completed their undergraduate medical education (usually within the last 8 years). Often these candidates enter with an advanced degree from a US or Canadian institution or with post-doctoral research experience in the US or Canada.
Applications should be submitted via the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) by December 31 of the year preceding appointment.
