Cytopathology Fellowship
Director: Pascale Levine, M.D. Assistant Professor of Pathology / GYN pathology, aspiration biopsy, thyroid and breast pathology
Description: Two fellowships. Two positions are available for a one-year ACGME accredited fellowship in Cytopathology at New York University Medical Center including Bellevue Hospital, a 1100-bed city hospital and Tisch Hospital, a 700-bed quaternary/tertiary care hospital, together comprising a nationally designated cancer center. The cytopathology laboratory has eight full-time cytopathologists. It processes over 60,000 cases annually including over 6000 aspiration biopsies performed by cytopathologists. Fellows fully participate in general cytopathology as well as see patients and perform aspiration biopsies. They assist at guided biopsies of deep sites, learn to perform stereotaxic aspiration biopsies, and are responsible for the primary evaluation of over 500 consultation cases.
Requirements: Completion of a three-year program in AP or a four-year program in AP/CP and must hold a NY State License.
Stipends: Commensurate with Candidate’s level of training.
