Description: One fellowship position. This one-year fellowship provides an intensive experience in gynecologic-obstetric and breast surgical pathology, along with ample opportunities in clinico-pathologic research. The fellowship is based at the Tisch and Bellevue Hospitals which together accession over 11,000 Ob-Gyn and 5000 breast cases per year. Cases are derived from NYU Cancer Institute, Tisch Hospital, Bellevue Hospital and its affiliated HHC hospitals such as the Gouverneur Hospital. The nature and variety of the case material is outstanding and varied and includes complex oncologic specimens requiring in depth clinic-pathologic correlations. Fellows are involved in the grossing and sign out of specimens, the performance and interpretation of frozen sections, presentation at conferences, research and the teaching and supervision of residents and medical students. Research opportunities are ample; fellows are expected to participate in clinic-pathologic research projects under faculty supervision.
Requirements: Completion of a three-year program in Anatomic Pathology or a four-year program in AP/CP and must hold a NY State License prior to the start date
Stipends: Commensurate with Candidate’s level of training.
